At the Clifton Hill Yoga Studio we teach exclusively in the Iyengar Yoga method. Each class will lead you through a sequence of yoga poses, typically starting with the more physical before leading into a quieter, more restorative conclusion. Yoga poses and breathing techniques strengthen the body and calm the mind from the very first class. Yoga compliments most forms of physical activity and is very calming on the nervous system.

 

General classes

  • For students with at least 12+ months Iyengar yoga experience.
  • Should have attended both Beginner (essential) and Level 1 (preferable) courses.
  • Will be introduced to a range of forward & back bends, twists, and inversions.
  • Casual attendance $25 per class.

 

Level 2 – casual

  • For experienced yoga students with at least 18+ months Iyengar Yoga.
  • Should be able to hold shoulder-stand for 5-minutes (without support). Will be introduced to supported headstand.
  • For students interested in developing their own yoga practice to include a wider and more intense range of forward & back bends, twists, and inversions.
  • Casual attendance $25 per class.

 

Backbends – casual

  • For experienced yoga students with at least 18+ months Iyengar Yoga.
  • For students familiar with the basic backbend asanas.
  • Students will be taught how to approach and do more advanced asanas.
  • Casual attendance $25 per class.

 

Level 3 – casual

  • Will develop the more advanced Asanas, including a full range of forward + backbends, twists, and inversions
  • Should be able to hold a 5-minute free headstand to attend, or otherwise know how to modify headstand in the case of neck problems.
  • Suitable for students with a minimum of 5 years regular class attendance and with a regular home practice.
  • Casual attendance $30 per class.
