Berenice first tasted yoga as a high school student with weekly classes in the foyer of the Nhulunbuy Cinema, Northern Territory. Later as a professional dancer, Berenice continued to do yoga classes regularly as a tool to help balance her movement workload. Once she came across Iyengar yoga she was hooked! … the detail, the discipline and the remarkable therapeutic effects.
After working through many life challenges: children, career changes, moving family from state to state, always with yoga as staple in her life; Berenice finally managed to complete her teacher training with Yoga Jivana under the patient tutelage of both Sue Everett and Peter Scott.
More recently she has been studying with Marina Jung to progress through the Junior Intermediate teacher development program, and was awarded JI1 in 2018. Berenice has had the privilege of studying with both Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar at RIMYI, and plans to continue to deepen her study of yoga through a rigorous personal practice, regular attendance at classes with Senior Iyengar teachers and through teaching.
