Class levels

At the Clifton Hill Yoga Studio we teach exclusively in the Iyengar Yoga method. Each class will lead you through a sequence of yoga poses, typically starting with the more physical before leading into a quieter, more restorative conclusion. Yoga poses and breathing techniques strengthen the body and calm the mind from the very first class. Yoga compliments most forms of physical activity and is very calming on the nervous system.

  • Also at 6am on Thursday and 5:30pm on Friday.
  • Also at 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
  • These classes are not aimed at a specific level and are open to everyone, however they will be more of an ‘intermediate’ level than any other.
  • New Beginners should attend a Beginners course first.

We run classes in several different formats

  • Beginner 1 & 2 courses run 6 times per year for 8-weeks each. Courses gradually introduce students to more difficult poses.
  • Level 1 courses also run 6 times per year for 8-weeks. It is envisaged that an Intermediate level student will progress to Level 2 classes after approx. 24 months of yoga.
  • Advanced yoga classes (level 2 and level 3) every day at our studio.
  • Casual classes offer greater flexibility for attendance – they do not require a booking – just show up! We offer them on a daily basis at all levels.
  • Workshops are focused courses that consolidate your yoga. They are often held in December & January, or on weekends, as well as by visiting teachers.
  • Private classes are a one-on-one session with a teacher. Typically private sessions run for one hour and are chance to explore poses in a more focused setting. From $100 per hour. If interested, please contact the studio.
