At the Clifton Hill Yoga Studio we teach exclusively in the Iyengar Yoga method. What is Iyengar Yoga?
Each class will lead you through a series of poses, typically starting with the more physical before leading into restorative. Yoga poses and breathing techniques strengthen the body and calm the mind from the very first class. Yoga is complimentary with most other forms of physical activity.
Yoga Levels
- Beginners is for those with no prior yoga experience.
- Level 1 is for students who have completed a beginners course, or with 6-12 months prior experience.
- Introduction to Level 2 is a transition to Level 2, and introduces head-stand. Generally for students with over 12 months experience.
- Level 2 and things are getting serious! Full hand-stand, head-stand and wider range of backbends, twisting poses and forward bends. Generally for students with over 18 months experience who practice more than once per week.
- Level 3 is for students with a regular home practice and includes full inversion cycles and balancings.
We run classes in several different formats
- Our courses run 4 times per year through our 4 terms. They range from Beginners to Introduction to Level 2. Courses gradually introduce students to more difficult poses, and run for 10 weeks.
- Casual classes offer greater flexibility for attendance - they do not require a booking - just show up! We offer them on a daily basis.
- Workshops & Intensives are focused courses that consolidate your yoga. They are often held during the term breaks or on weekends.
- Private classes are a one-on-one session with a teacher. Typically private sessions run for one hour and are chance to explore poses in a more focused setting. From $80 per hour. If interested, please contact the studio.
