Our courses run for 10 weeks, with students attending 1 class each week, at the same time. They begin at the start of each school term. We accept bookings up to 2 weeks after the start of the course. If you missed the start of the courses, or simply don't wish to participate in a course, casual classes are available on a daily basis.
Make-up classes
If you join late or miss a class in your course, you can make it up by attending any other class on the timetable in the same level, in any week, and also for the first 2 weeks of holidays at the end of term. The next term starts 2 weeks after the conclusion of the current term, so you have the whole holidays, but at Christmas the make-ups expire on December 31st.
Beginners Iyengar Yoga
A 10-week course is the ideal way to start yoga. No previous experience is necessary to participate in our beginners course.
We often also run 5-week Foundation Beginner courses in mid-term so students have the chance to start yoga without waiting for a new term.
Level 1 Iyengar Yoga
For those who have completed a Beginners Course or equivalent experience (6-12 months). Consolidates Beginners Course poses.
Level 2 Introductory Iyengar Yoga
A transition course to level 2, introducing headstand and strengthening asana practice. Generally for students with over 12 months experience.
Level 2 & Level 3 - casual classes only
Level 2 is generally for students with over 18 months experience. Includes headstand, handstand and backbends, a wider range of twists and forward bends, and pranayama.
Level 3 is for experienced students with their own regular practice, including inverted pose cycles and balancings.
The Clifton Hill Yoga Studio also runs a successful teacher training program. Our new teacher training course starts in Feb 2011- more information on teacher training.
