Our teacher training course commenced in February 2010. The program will extend over a two-year period and requires a serious commitment to yourself and to Iyengar Yoga. Dedicating more time to the pursuit of yoga and teaching yoga is an endless process that will start with the first two years of this course, and should then continue to evolve and grow over your lifetime. The course instills a strong discipline for indepedent practice, gives an overall understanding of teaching asana and pranayama in accordance with the method developed by BKS Iyengar, and introduces the study of human anatomy and yoga philosophy. After the two-year period, an optional third year of apprenticeship is available. Download the information page regarding the commitment required in time, cost and energy. Read the experience and thoughts of one existing teacher in training at the Clifton Hill Yoga Studio. The program prepares students for the BKS Iyengar Yoga Association of Australia teacher assessments. More details of the assessment procedures are available at BKS Iyengar Yoga Association of Australia. Acceptance for teacher training is at the sole discretion of the principal teacher Marina Jung.
